Size Your Feet

Method 1

1. You need to download Acrobat Reader to use the foot sizer.
2. Click here to download the foot sizer for Men.
3. Click here to download the foot sizer for Women. The sizer files are provided in pdf format and will automatically print at full scale.
4. Prepare to print the file.
5. The sizer File will print on regular 8 1/2 X 11 letter paper.
6. When setting print options, do not choose "fit to page." This will change the scale and the accuracy will be adversely affected. The file can be printed in color or grayscale. Color printing provides more contrast between the length and width markers and foot outline; however the accuracy is the same regardless of print mode.
7. Once printing is complete, place sizer on a solid floor, if possible. Carpeted surfaces make reading the sizer more difficult.
8. For best results, wear socks appropriate for intended use of shoe or boot. In other words, if you are shopping for cold-weather hunting boots and are likely to wear thick wool or wool/cotton blend boot socks, then these will produce the most accurate measurement when using the sizer for boots for that specific use. The same holds true for basic work boots; wear the socks normally used for day-to-day work.
9. Follow instructions on sizer page for foot placement.

This device is to be used as a guide only and will provide satisfactory results in most instances. If however, you have unique footwear fitting needs, you will be best served to have a footwear professional assist in determining your proper shoe size.

Method 2

  • Get a piece of paper large enough to trace the outline of your foot on, a pencil, and a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Trace the outline of your foot keeping the pencil perpendicular to the paper
  • Draw parallel lines which intersect with the widest areas of your foot. You should have a rectangle, not a rhombus, not a trapezoid.
  • Measure the length and width of your foot in inches.
  • Use the chart below to convert your two measurements from inches to find your actual shoe size. I've included size charts for men in the U.S. here but you can find similar charts online for women and international sizes.

Women's Sizes

Update: In order to determine women’s sizes, just add two sizes to the mens size. For example, a men’s size 8 is equivalent to a women’s size 10.
