Lehigh Safety Shoe Co. has been providing protective toe safety shoes since the early 1920’s initially under the name of Lehigh Rubber and Leather Company.
There have been many upgrades in technology over time allowing for better safety shoes. One of the key comfort features Lehigh has been utilizing in a number of styles including our Lehigh steel toe stock # 5194 over the last ten years has been lightweight polyurethane outsoles.
Polyurethane outsole material not only helps make lighter weight steel toe shoes, but also gives helping take some of the stress and strain away from the wearer’s feet and body.
What really helps take 5194’s underfoot comfort to another level is its contoured removable polyurethane cushion insole. The polyurethane material used in its insole is known for its cushioning while not bottoming out features. Plus, the outsole of 5194 is cored out throughout including up to ½” in the heel strike area allowing for extra thick direct underfoot cushion comfort.
Adding to the Lehigh stock # 5194 comfort package is its exceptionally soft tumbled upper leather. The tumbling process performed by the leather tannery helps break-up and soften the leather lessening the break-in for the wearer.
In addition to meeting the highest ASTM F2413-05 Impact and Compression standards, Lehigh stock # 5194 also complies with its Static Dissipative standards. Static Dissipative footwear is geared to those areas dealing with electronic component assembly, but can be worn in work areas requiring only basic protective toe footwear.
